Ms. Crotwell earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee in 1990. After several years of environmental consulting, Ms. Crotwell obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence, summa cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1997. She received the Charles Henderson Miller Award of Excellence in Civil Advocacy and has been a member of The Order of the Coif since 1997. From 1997 until 1999, she served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Gary R. Wade, Presiding Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals of Tennessee.
In 1999, she entered private practice with the firm of McDonald, Levy & Taylor and became a partner in the firm in 2004. Her legal practice areas include elder law, wills and estates, conservatorship proceedings, personal injury, motorcycle accident litigation, worker’s compensation, family law, and other civil litigation.
She is a member of esteemed professional organizations including the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the American and Knoxville Bar Associations.
Ms. Crotwell participates in a number of volunteer programs in the community. She assists children of abuse and neglect as President of CASA of East Tennessee (2005-2006). She has developed and administered a program for Ride For Life, a non-profit organization, to provide monetary grants for legal services for persons who suffer from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. She offers pro bono legal planning services to patients at the Hope Center at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and at the Knoxville Legal Aid Society. She serves on the University of Tennessee Legal Clinic Alumni Advisory Board.
Ms. Crotwell lives in Oak Ridge, Tennessee with her husband. She is an avid motorcyclist and enjoys hiking, fishing, and travel. She is a licensed motorcycle operator and owns two motorcycles which she frequently rides both on and off road.
